An Assessment of HUD’s Performance Management System

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) current performance management system exemplifies a concerted effort to implement a thoughtful vision spurring motivation for improvement throughout all levels of a major public organization. HUD set its aims high, taking on challenges of collaboration across programs and even with other major agencies to meet its exalted goals and vision. With great risks, HUD has shown, comes great rewards as these cooperative initiatives have been some of the most successful of the agency's portfolio.
